Stuffed Crust Meat Lovers Pizza

Stuffed Crust Meat Lovers Pizza

We are a pizza loving family! We eat it at least once or twice a week. But if you’re like me and live pretty far from any good pizza delivery places, making pizza at home is the next best option. Not only does it allow you to enjoy a fresh, homemade meal, but it also opens the door to endless customization. Recently, I whipped up a delicious Stuffed Crust Meat Lovers Pizza for my son and his girlfriend, and let me tell you, it was a hit! (Don’t get me wrong, we do order delivery on occasion and I keep the freezer stocked with frozen ones, but this is so much better!)

Making pizza at home is not just about the taste; it’s about the experience. It allows you to gather the family in the kitchen, get everyone involved, and create something together. Plus, you can tailor your pizza to suit everyone’s preferences. Whether you’re a fan of extra cheese, unique toppings, or just pepperoni, making it at home means everyone can have it their way!

Ingredients

  • 13.8 ounces of refrigerated pizza crust (or whatever size you can find) and if you are really ambitious, you can make homemade crust!
  • 8 string cheese mozzarella sticks
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 4 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ jar of pizza sauce
  • ½ pound cooked Italian sausage (reserve a couple tablespoons)
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Pepperoni slices
  • Canadian bacon slices
  • 2 slices of crumbled bacon

Instructions:

This is just a summary, the full recipe is below. Start by laying a piece of parchment paper on your countertop. Stretch the refrigerated pizza crust into a rectangle shape.

Lay the mozzarella string cheese sticks around the edges of the crust, using all eight sticks. (You may need more or less depending on the size of your crust). Next, fold the edges of the pizza over the cheese sticks and pinch the seams tightly to keep the gooey goodness inside.

In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, minced garlic, and parsley. Then transfer the pizza to a baking sheet. Spread this flavorful mixture all around the crust and edges, ensuring every bite is infused with garlic and herb goodness. Trim off any excess parchment paper around the edges. Bake at 425°F (220°C) for about 5 minutes, or until the crust starts to set.

Once the crust is slightly baked, remove it from the oven and spread half a jar of pizza sauce on top. Then, add the cooked Italian sausage (saving a couple of tablespoons for later) and a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese. Top the cheese with pepperoni slices, Canadian bacon, and the reserved sausage. Finally, sprinkle a bit more mozzarella if you desire that extra cheesy goodness.

Return the pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes at 425°F (220°C), or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is beautifully bubbly and slightly browned. When the timer goes off, and you pull that piping hot pizza out of the oven, you’ll be greeted with a heavenly aroma that will make your mouth water. The golden-brown crust, stuffed with gooey mozzarella, and topped with a hearty mix of meats and cheese creates a perfect meal that satisfies even the heartiest of appetites.
