Crispy Air Fryer Potatoes

February 23, 2023

Potatoes. Potatoes are life is what I often say! When people ask if you could only have one food the rest of your life what would it be, my answer is ALWAYS potatoes! Any way you can make them, I can eat them! And these Crispy Air Fryer Potatoes are no exception! And I am going to take a second to say that the air fryer is one appliance I do not know how I ever lived without! I always had a toaster oven and used it a lot, but the air fryer upped the game and now I will forever need one in my kitchen!

Back to these Crispy Air Fryer Potatoes though. The great thing about these is that you can make them with any type of seasoning you like and with any kind of potatoes that you like! And they are so much healthier than my old way of making them in a skillet full of butter.

Here are some other great air fryer recipes you may like!

What kind of potatoes do you have to use?

You can use literally any kind of potato that you like. In this recipe I used Russets. They will have a softer inside due to their heavier starch content. The reds, yellows and purples will be a bit more firm on the inside, but all of them will be equally as tasty!

What kind of seasonings should you use?

The sky is the limit! Don’t be afraid to experiment with flavors. Chances are, if you like a certain seasoning on, say, chicken, you will like it on these potatoes too! For this particular recipe, I used a simple salt, pepper and garlic blend.

Can they be stored and reheated?

Yes. They can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. But I do recommend reheating them on a low temp in the air fryer. The microwave will make them soggy.

To make, cut the potatoes up into equal sized bite-sized pieces. Transfer them to a bowl. Drizzle with a small amount of olive oil or any kind of oil you have. Season them and toss to coat. Place them in an even layer in your air fryer basket.

Air fry at 400 degrees for 20-30 minutes. Timing is going to vary for each person depending on the size of the chunks of potatoes as well as your individual air fryer.

I like to use 20 minutes as a starting point. Be sure to give them a good shake once or twice while cooking.

They are finished when they reach your desired level of crispiness!

I like mine super crispy! These took about 25 minutes in total cooking time. Here is the last recipe I used them for: French Onion Beef and Potato Bake – So Yummy!!!!!
