Loaded Sausages in the Air Fryer

I honestly do not know how I ever lived without an air fryer! I always had a toaster oven, and used that religiously, but the air fryer is just so much better! I have 2 different types. One is the basket type, like the one shown in this recipe and the other is more like a small oven with the racks in it. I have discovered that they each are wonderful, but definitely not interchangeable. However! One reason I love cooking in my air fryer is the convenience and the quickness in which you can get dinner done. I also love that you can put cuts of meat in it and the meat gets nicely browned. These air fryer loaded sausages are just something I decided to throw together one day, and wow did they turn out great! These would be great with or without a bun, but I loved the idea of letting the taste of the veggies and the meat shine through so I went without buns and served them with hot buttered sweet corn and some garlic bread. This is a perfect weeknight meal that you can have on the table in just about 20-25 minutes.

Start by slicing up an onion, and a red and green bell pepper. Season them with whatever seasonings you like. Put in your air fryer basket.

Spray with some cooking spray.

Place your uncooked sausages on top of the vegetables.

This is the brand that I used for this particular recipe but any kind works great!

ir fry at 400 degrees making sure to flip halfway through.

Top them with your favorite cheese. I am using smoked gouda because I just absolutely love it!

Cook for another 2-3 minutes or until cheese is melted.

And that’s all there is to it!
Recipe:
Ingredients:
- One package of uncooked sausages (any brand/flavor will work, but I used Johnsonville Original Brats for this recipe
- 1 sliced onion
- 1 sliced red bell pepper
- 1 sliced green bell pepper
- Seasoning (I used Slap Ya Mama)
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil Cooking Spray
- Sliced or shredded cheese (any flavor will work but I used smoked gouda)
Directions:
Slice up the onion and peppers. Place in the air fryer basket. Spray with the cooking spray and add your seasonings. Place the sausages on top of the veggies and air fry at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes flipping once halfway through cooking. Once they are cooked, add your cheese on top and cook for another 2-3 minutes to get your cheese melted. So easy yet so delicious!
