Christmas Ornament Shaped Cookies

November 28, 2022

These Christmas Ornament Shaped Cookies are not only super adorable, but they are really easy to make. There is no baking involved and they require just a few simple ingredients! These are fun for the little ones and a hit with the kids and adults alike! They are the perfect blend of sweet and salty.

You will start by spreading some peanut butter on a Ritz cracker. I do not measure, just use as much as you like!

Get another cracker and form it into a “sandwich”

Next you will coat it in some melted almond bark or white chocolate. (I unfortunately did not record this step, but just follow the directions on the package for melting it.) I find that using 2 spoons to cover the crackers works best.

Transfer to a cookie sheet or something similar lined with parchment paper.

Quickly add 1/2 of a Reese’s peanut butter cup to the top so that it adheres to the chocolate. (I had the peanut butter cups in the fridge prior to cutting them in half and I used a very sharp knife to cut them.)

Then sprinkle on some colored sanding glitter or decorate with any kind of candy of your choice. Let cool and harden and transfer to a serving plate or sealable container to store them in.

  • Spread peanut butter on a cracker, then add another on top to make a "sandwich"
  • Cover with the melted almond bark and transfer to a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Quickly add one of the peanut butter cups to the top of the cookie, letting it adhere to the almond bark. Sprinkle with the sanding sugar or decorate with any other candies you like!
  • Let cool and harden then transfer to a serving plate, or container in which you will be storing them.

Notes

These can be frozen in an airtight container for up to one month. Let them completely cool and harden before transferring to the freezer.
If you or someone  in your house has peanut allergies, Oreo cookies make a great substitute in place of the ritz and peanut butter.
You can use chocolate almond bark in addition or as a substitute to the vanilla almond bark.
You can also use white or milk chocolate in place of the almond bark.
Let the kids get creative and use a variety of candies to decorate these!
