Easy and Delicious Instant Pot Spaghetti

December 19, 2022

I remember when I first got my Instant Pot, I was terrified to use it! I had visions of it exploding like a bomb in my kitchen. So I watched several tutorials and read a lot of recipes and went ahead and gave it a try. The first thing I cooked in there was hard boiled eggs. I had sweaty palms and was a nervous wreck until the whole process was over. And once it was done, I was relieved and also very impressed by how easy it was to use. Now it is one of my favorite kitchen appliances! A year or so ago, my friend told me that she loves making spaghetti in hers. So I gave it a try, and it is not only easy, but tastes so much better this way!

You will start by setting your pressure cooker to the brown/sear mode and you will brown 1.5 lbs of ground beef with 1 diced onion and 6-7 minced garlic cloves.

Season with salt, pepper and about 1 tsp of Italian Seasoning.

Once the meat is fully cooked, place 1 lb of spaghetti noodles (broken in half), right on top of the meat.

Pour in 45 oz of Spaghetti sauce and 4 cups of low sodium, beef broth (for my homemade spaghetti sauce recipe click here: https://whatsmomcookin.com/homemade-spaghetti-sauce/

Note: It is very important not to stir it, as tempting as it may be! This could result in the noodles making it to the bottom of the cooker, and will result in the dreaded burn error. It also keeps them from sticking together while cooking. I only know this from trial and error!

Set pressure cooker to manual high heat and cook for 11 minutes. When it is finished, do a manual realease.

You will want to stir it up really well and let it sit for about 10 minutes to thicken up! Season with salt and pepper to taste if needed.
