Chopped Italian Sliders

I an not fibbing when I say that these Chopped Italian Sliders are THE BEST sliders that I have ever had or made! They were absolutely incredible and since first making them, I have made them at least a dozen times since. And not once have I changed a thing! They are made on Kings Hawaiian Savory Butter Rolls. And since these freeze well I like to stock up on them. You can have them delivered straight to your door by ordering them here from Amazon! Then they are piled high with a variety of meat. And a salad mix that takes it to the next level! I have fallen behind on getting my recipes on my blog. Life just sort of got in the way. I posted these a little over a month ago on my social media platforms. And they have overall received over 40 million views!!! And they are worth every bit of the hype! Try them and you will see why!
And here are some other great recipes to check out while you are here!

How to Make Italian Chopped Sliders

These are the rolls I used, you can find them here. But any flavor will work! You will slice them in half and place the bottom rolls in the oven safe baking tray. Slather some mayo on them and bake in the oven until golden brown. Yes, the tray is oven safe! But if you don’t feel comfortable using it, just use a 9×13 baking dish!

While those are in the oven, chop up your deli meats. Then place it in a skillet over medium heat and cooked until heated through.

When the bottom layer of buns is toasted, (This step is important to help keep them from getting soggy!) put a layer of sliced cheese on them, followed by the heated meat. Then you will place the top rolls on and brush them with a butter mixture.

Now for the Salad Topping

In a medium sized bowl, mix together shredded lettuce, Mayo, chopped red onion, chopped dill pickles and banana peppers, and some Submarine dressing. If you can’t find that in your supermarket, it can be purchased here! If you do not wish to use that, you can use a combination of olive oil, red wine vinegar and Italian seasoning.

When the rolls come out of the oven, carefully remove the top buns. Spread the lettuce mixture on top of the meat, then replace the top buns and slice them up! And that’s all there is to it! Now enjoy the best sliders of your life!

This look excellent can’t wait to try them
Delicious! This is going into regular rotation. This is the kind of recipe that just gets better each time you make it. I’m in love with the rich savory flavors in these sliders! So good!
Had these at a holiday party and couldn’t believe how good they were. Had to make them myself just to prove that they couldn’t have been as good as I remembered; I must have just been really hungry that day… Nope. This is going directly into my appetizer / holiday / potluck / game day repertoire and it is already near the top of the list. Super easy, super tasty, they smell delicious, and you could totally customize if you wanted, although I don’t think it’s necessary at all. (one thing I did was sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top with the melted butter, garlic, Italian seasoning). 5 stars, two thumbs up, everyone loves them. Thanks!!!
Hey Nick! What an awesome review! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave one! I am so glad you love the sandwiches as much as we do! Thank you so much! 🙂
Made these tonight. Fabulous!!!!! They were so good. I am definitely making again! Thank you for the great recipe.
I am so glad to hear that! 🙂
Made these tonight. Loved them. Excellent recipe. Great video
So glad to hear that! Thank you for the nice review!
Wonderful bites.
Thank you Liz!
I made this with chicken tortellini soup and my family didn’t finish all of the sandwiches. Can this be reheated? Hopefully! It made our house smell amazing!
Hi Karen, I am so sorry I couldn’t get back to you yesterday. We were having a blizzard and lost electricity! I would have told you that the sandwiches probably aren’t the best when reheated but certainly can be. I hope you were able to figure something out!
These have the best flavor! The whole family loves them.
My husband cannot stop eating these. I appreciate you sharing the homemade dressing recipe, that is what I used. These are delicious and a fun new idea for saving the rest of the bread we bought from a big box store. Thank you for your tips and for sharing this yummy idea.
The taste was good but why chop everything up? A good portion of my filling fell out. I would definitely leave the meat layered whole next time I made it. Not sure about the salad part, did enjoy it on my sandwich, just messy.
Excellent! Great dish to bring to share at a gathering. Definitely recommend using the tray that comes with rolls as I moved on to a 9 X 13 pan and it got really messy when I attempted to cut them.
It won’t print the recipe. I’ve checked my printer and it’s working fine?
Sometimes you may have a pop up blocker on or your security won’t allow it. I am not sure though! I tested from my son’s computer and it worked. Let me know if it persists and I will look into it further.
Delicious!!!
Can you toast the bread and mix the chopped mixture ahead of time, then put them together right before serving? I am wanting to try these while camping as a quick lunch. Thank you!
I really don’t recommend it. The lettuce gets soggy after about 1 hour. And I am not sure how long the bread would hold up after being toasted. They really are something that needs to be made and eaten fairly quickly afterwards.
So good!! I’m obsessed. The salad had so much flavor and really brought the sliders together. They were messy but worth it! (I did omit the red onions though)
Messy but delicious! We didn’t finish them all and refrigerated them. We served them cold the next day and everyone said they were just as good or better than the day before.
I’ve fixed a lot of good dinners for my kids and grandkids every Sunday night but these were a HUGE hit, even with The Pickiest Child on Earth (she’s 8). I heard, “these are really good” and then she went back for seconds. They were really good and this is something that everyone wants to make sure I make again…..soon!
This makes me so happy Sally! I especially love hearing that the picky eaters like something! Thank you for leaving a review 🙂
Made these for our game night (about 20 people) and they all devoured them. I doubled the recipe, but turns out I didn’t make enough. Now these are in our regular dinner menu. So easy to make and our grandkids LOVE them. There are never any leftovers.
That is awesome Dave! Thanks so much for the thoughtful review!
I am an accomplished cook and have tried hundresd of appitizer/game/ party type food over the years. This are one of my favorite things to make and require very little skill or prep time. They always disapperar quickly and everyone raves about how good they are. They will go soggy fast so don’t make the lettuce mixture up early and do assemble them until right before you are going to eat them. If you are not going to eat them all at once only put the lettuce mixture on what you plan to eat and dress the others later. They are a winner and a keeper! Thank you for this recipe.
Yes, you definitely want to wait until serving to put the lettuce mixture on! But I am so glad everyone enjoyed them! Thank you for the thoughtful review!
These are worth the mess they making eating them. They are very messy to eat but damn delicious. Switch up the salad mixture to your liking. I added green and black olives to mine, as well as the things called for here. I just cut back on the peppers and pickles to keep the proportions the same. I have made these about 4 times since finding this recipe about 6 months ago. Everyone loves them. Don’t make the mistake of putting a few to the side to save for someone not there yet. They will magically disappear. Better to lock them up in the safe if you want to keep some for later.
Awesome recipe! What is the nutrition value of these though??
Thank you! And I am sorry, I do not have the nutritional value for them. It does not calculate it on the software that I use.
These are so delicious! My husband said they are one of the tastiest food I’ve made in our 18 years of marriage! Fo yourself a favor and try them – they are easy to whip up and full of flavor!
That is great to hear Steph! Thank you for the nice review!
This was a big hit at my house! Thanks for a great recipe! Everyone declared it a keeper. Easy and delicious. I skipped the salami because I’m not a fan, did turkey pepperoni and low fat mayo. In the future I will do less mayo, the salad was SOOOOO good, but too wet.
It is great to hear that everyone liked it! Thank you for the review!
I make this as just a salad and leave out the bread since I have celiac. It’s so good as a side dish or a meal during the summer! Thanks so much!
I made these for a family coming in from out of state because they looked so good in the picture. I second guessed myself after making them before they got here but EVERYONE loved them. They were a HUGE hit and I myself who is the harshest critic when I make something thought they were fabulous as well. I followed the recipe to a T and have made them twice since the first time. These are even good the next day if you happen to have any left over. Thank you for a Great recipt.

I made these for family coming in from out of state because they looked so good in the picture but then started second guessing because of the simplicity of the recipe. They were a HUGE hit and I myself thought they were FABULOUS even the next day (if you happen to have any leftovers). I followed the recipe to the T and have made them twice since. Everything from the rolls to the salad topping compliment each other for a perfect slider. You will not be dissappointed, make them NOW!
It’s in my dinner rotation….everyone loves them!
Amazing! I made these tonight for dinner! I precut the onions, peppers and meats and stored them in the refrigerator until dinner time!
I was able to put them all together super fast and even cooked them in the airfryer/oven.
Even my picky eater loved them!
That is wonderful Misty! So glad to hear it and great tips for prepping ahead. Thank you!
Absolutely love them thank you for the recipe so easy and fast
