Ingredients

  • 1 lb Bacon
  • 1 12 Count Package King's Hawaiian Rolls
  • 1/2 Cup Mayonnaise, divided
  • 3 Cups Chopped Lettuce, approximately half of one head of lettuce
  • 2-3 Tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 tbs Beano's Submarine Dressing optional, see notes below
  • 6 slices Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/2 lb Sliced Deli Turkey
  • 2 tbs Salted Butter, melted
  • 1 tbs Onion Powder
  • 1-2 tsp Everything Bagel Seasoning optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Lay bacon on it and bake it for about 20-25 minutes or to desired doneness. Drain on a paper towel lined plate and set it aside.
  • Slice the rolls in half lengthwise. Spread the bottom rolls with about 1/4 cup of mayonnaise. (If you do not like the thought of using mayonnaise, use butter or skip this part.) Bake for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.
  • While the rolls are in the oven, cut up your lettuce and tomatoes. Put the lettuce in a bowl and mix with about 2-3 tablespoons of mayo and about 1-2 tablespoons of the Submarine Dressing.
  • When the bottom rolls are done, top them with the cheese slices, the turkey and the bacon. Place the top rolls on and brush with the melted butter mixed with the onion powder and the Everything Bagel Seasoning. Put them back in the oven for about 5 minutes.
  • When they are done, remove the top rolls and put the lettuce and tomatoes on. Put the top rolls back on, slice them up and enjoy!

Notes

These are best when eaten right away. I do not recommend making them more than 30 minutes to 1 hour before you are planning on eating.
If you do not want to heat this up at all, they would also be great cold!
If you cannot find the submarine dressing, use 1 tbs of olive oil, a splash of vinegar and about 1/2 teaspoon each of dried basil and oregano. Or you can omit that completely.
