Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1/4 Cup Yellow Onion, Diced
  • 1/4 Cup Green Bell Pepper, Diced
  • 3-4 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 8 oz Tomato Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/4 Cup Ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 8 count Package of Garlic Toast (sometimes referred to as Texas Toast) This can be found in the frozen food section
  • 1-1 1/2 Cups Grated Cheese any flavor you like, I used sharp cheddar

Instructions

  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the onions, peppers and garlic. Drain the excess grease if needed.
  • Stir in the next 5 ingredients and salt and pepper to taste. Simmer on low for about 10 minutes.
  • Prepare the Garlic toast according to the package directions. Remove it from the oven and use a large spoon to press down the middle of them. (This creates little "bowls" to help the filling stay put.
  • Fill each piece evenly with the sloppy joe mixture, then top each one with some cheese. Place back in the oven until the cheese is melted.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!
