Homemade Salisbury Steaks are seasoned to perfection, then covered with a wonderfully decadent gravy made with fresh onions, mushrooms and seasonings. It is the perfect meal when you are craving comfort food!
1tbspAvocado OilAny oil will work, I just prefer avocado
For the Gravy
1Yellow Onion, sliced
8ozSliced Fresh Mushrooms
3-4Garlic Cloves, minced
2tbspButter
1/4CupAll Purpose Flour
2CupsBeef Broth
1tbspKetchup
1-2tspsWorcestershire Sauce
Salt and Pepper to Taste
1-2tspsChopped Fresh Parsleyoptional as a garnish
Instructions
In a large bowl, mix together all of the ingredients for the burger patties. Divide into 4 equal parts and form into patties.
Add the oil to a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side. Remove them and set them aside.
Add the onions and mushrooms to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, until they are a golden brown. Add the garlic and cook for one more minute. Add in the butter.
Stir in the flour and cook it down for 3-4 minutes.
Slowly stir in the beef broth and stir until thickened, then stir in the ketchup and Worcestershire sauce.
