Homemade Salisbury Steak

Homemade Salisbury Steaks are seasoned to perfection, then covered with a wonderfully decadent gravy made with fresh onions, mushrooms and seasonings. It is the perfect meal when you are craving comfort food!

Ingredients

For the Patties

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 tbsp Ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1/4 Cup Panko Bread Crumbs
  • 1 Packet Lipton Onion Soup Mix
  • 1 tbsp Avocado Oil Any oil will work, I just prefer avocado

For the Gravy

  • 1 Yellow Onion, sliced
  • 8 oz Sliced Fresh Mushrooms
  • 3-4 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1/4 Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 2 Cups Beef Broth
  • 1 tbsp Ketchup
  • 1-2 tsps Worcestershire Sauce
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste
  • 1-2 tsps Chopped Fresh Parsley optional as a garnish

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix together all of the ingredients for the burger patties. Divide into 4 equal parts and form into patties.
  • Add the oil to a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side. Remove them and set them aside.
  • Add the onions and mushrooms to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, until they are a golden brown. Add the garlic and cook for one more minute.
    Add in the butter.
  • Stir in the flour and cook it down for 3-4 minutes.
  • Slowly stir in the beef broth and stir until thickened, then stir in the ketchup and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Season with salt and pepper if needed.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!
