Hamburger Steaks with Onion Gravy

Classic hamburger steaks with onion gravy made in one skillet. Easy comfort food perfect over mashed potatoes or rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1/4 Cup Bread Crumbs
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 4 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 2 tsp Fire and Smoke Society Steak King Chophouse Blend or any of your favorite burger or steak seasoning blends!
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1 Large Yellow Onion, diced or sliced
  • 2 packets Brown Gravy Mix
  • 2 Cups Water
  • Salt and Black Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce just until combined. Form into four patties.
  • Brown patties in a skillet over medium heat for about 3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  • Add butter and onions to the skillet. Season with black pepper and cook over low to medium heat for 12–15 minutes until softened and lightly browned.
  • Stir in gravy mix and water. Cook until thickened.
  • Return patties to the skillet, spoon gravy over them, cover, and simmer on low for 10 minutes.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave.

Yes, freeze in an airtight container for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight before reheating.
