1tbspBurger SeasoningI like the Kinders Caramelized Onion Burger Seasoning
8ozTomato Sauce
1/4CupKetchup
1tbspWorcestershire Sauce
2tbspBrown Sugar
Texas Toast Bread
Mayonnaise (or butter)
Kraft American Cheese Slicesor any kind of cheese you like
Instructions
In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the onions and garlic. Drain the excess grease if needed.
Stir in the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Let simmer for about 5 minutes.
Use a nonstick pan or griddle for this step.
Spread the mayonnaise or butter on one side of the Texas Toast slices (I used 8 slices to make 4 sandwiches).
Place mayo side down on the hot pan or griddle. Place a slice of cheese on each slice. Put a few heaping spoonful of the sloppy joe mixture on one side then flip the other on top to make a sandwich.
Grill until the bread is golden brown and crispy and the cheese is melted. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
You can make this even easier by using a can of Manwich for the sloppy Joes. I just don't like the taste of it and I have been making my sloppy Joes like this for years. If you are thrown off by the mayonnaise, I highly suggest you try it! It is superior to butter when making grilled cheese sandwiches! I even use it on my garlic bread. But if you are not convinced, butter is great too!And I know people have strong opinions about Kraft American singles, so use any type of melty cheese that you like! I was able to make 4 sandwiches out of this! And they were STUFFED full!
