Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 Yellow Onion, Diced
  • 3-4 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp Mrs Dash Original Seasoning Blend or a mix of garlic powder and onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Dried Thyme
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 Medium Yellow Potatoes, chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 12 oz Bag of Frozen Mixed Vegetables, thawed
  • 2 (10.5) oz Cans of Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 11.36 oz Box of Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit Mix
  • 1/2 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 Cup Milk or Water see notes below
  • 3 tbsp Melted Butter
  • Seasoning Packet from Biscuit Mix

Instructions

  •  Preheat oven to 425°F.
  • Brown the ground beef with the diced onion and garlic in a skillet over medium heat. Drain the excess grease if needed.
  • Add seasonings and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well.
  • Microwave the potatoes (or you can boil them) for 5 minutes. This will speed up the cooking time in the oven and prevent the biscuits from burning. Add them to the meat mixture along with the vegetables and cream soups.
  • Mix everything well and season to taste if needed. Spread it into a 9x13 baking dish.
  • To prepare the biscuit topping, stir the mix with the cheese and the milk or water.
  • Drop by spoonfuls onto the meat mixture and spread it out evenly.
  • Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the edges are bubbly.
  • Mix the seasoning packet with the melted butter and brush on the top while still hot.

Notes

Notes:
  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef.
  • Use cream of chicken, celery, or potato soup if preferred.
  • Water can replace milk in the biscuit mix.
  • Any shredded cheese will work!
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave. You can make the meat mixture and freeze it for up to 3 months. When you are ready to make it, let it thaw to room temperature, then bake as directed with the biscuit crust.
