Ingredients
6ozExtra Wide Egg Noodles
2tbspSalted Butter
1lbGround Beef
1Yellow Onion, Diced
3Garlic Cloves, minced
1tbspWorcestershire Sauce
1tspUmami Seasoningif you can't find this it is fine to omit it
1tspItalian Seasoning
1/4CupAll Purpose Flour
2Cups Beef Broth
Salt and Pepper to taste
Dried Parsley optional, for garnish
Instructions
Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the noodles until al dente. I like to add some beef bouillon to the water but salt works just as well.
When they are finished, drain them and stir in the 2 tbsp of butter while they are still warm.
While the noodles are cooking, brown the ground beef, onion and garlic in a skillet over medium high heat. When it is finished, do not drain the grease.
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, Umami seasoning, Italian seasoning and salt and pepper.
Sprinkle the flour in and cook that down for 4-5 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.
Slowly stir in the beef broth, stirring constantly. Once you have it all stirred in turn the heat to low and let it thicken up.
Gently fold in the cooked noodles. Season with salt and pepper if needed. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Keep leftovers in the fridge for 3-4 days. keep in mind that the noodles will soak up a lot of the sauce as they continue to sit. They will also break down quite a bit. This won't affect the taste, only the appearance.Reheat on the stove in a saucepan over low heat or in the microwave.I do not recommend freezing as this changes the texture of the noodles too much. You could freeze the sauce and make the noodles just before serving!
