1tbspSalted Butterdivided
For the Filling
4tbspSalted Butter
2Celery Ribs, diced
2-3Carrots, diced
1Medium Yellow Onion, diced
1/4-1/2tsp eachSalt and Pepper
5-6Garlic Cloves, minced
2tspHerbs De Provence
1/2tsp eachGarlic Powder and Onion Powder
1/3CupAll Purpose Flour
1 1/2CupsChicken Broth
3/4CupHeavy Cream
2CupsShredded Cheddar
4CupsSteamed Broccoli Florets, chopped
For the Topping
1BoxCheddar Bay Biscuit Mix
3/4CupCold Water
1/2CupShredded Cheddar
1tbspMelted Butter
Garlic Herb Seasoning Packet included with the biscuit mix
Instructions
Season and cook the chicken in the oil and 1 tablespoon butter. Remove it and chop it into bite-sized pieces.
Cook the celery, carrots, and onion in the remaining butter until softened. Add garlic and cook one minute.
Stir in the flour and cook for about 4 minutes.
Whisk in the broth and cream until thickened.
Stir in the chicken and broccoli.
Transfer filling to a greased deep 11-inch pie plate or a 9x13 baking dish.
Scoop biscuit dough over the top.
Bake at 400°F for about 20 minutes until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
Mix the melted butter with the seasoning packet and brush over the top.
Rest 15 minutes before serving.

Storage
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.Reheat individual portions in the microwave until hot.
Can You Freeze It?
I don’t recommend freezing the fully baked casserole because the biscuits won’t have the same texture after thawing.If you’d like to prepare it ahead of time, make the filling, allow it to cool completely, and freeze it without the biscuit topping. When you’re ready to bake, thaw the filling overnight in the refrigerator, top with freshly prepared Cheddar Bay biscuit dough, and bake as directed.
